Dusk ~ Castlemaine Art Museum

Dusk was the first major commission for the Castlemaine Art Museum in 2009 with the generous patronage of the late Cherry Tennant in commemoration of her partner Frank Mau.

The brief was for a monumental sculpture to be made by an Australian woman sculptor, that would marry with the Art Deco façade and reflect the theme of Life & Death.

Set on a magnificent Harcourt granite base, hand carved by David Pratt & Sons, Dusk is the largest work in bronze Zoe has made to date, standing at 390cm high. Embraced and loved by the community the sculpture is now on loan to the Mount Alexander Shire and situated in the Castlemaine Botanical Gardens near the playground and Stone Pines that provided inspiration.

St David St Commission

In an impressive converted warehouse in inner city Melbourne, Zoe designed, created, installed and lit six unique sculptural works and implemented a new colour and textural palette for the two – storey light well, entranceway and fireplace. The works in patinated bronze, pigmented aluminium and blown glass (Morell & Co) activated an exciting dynamic throughout the home and office spaces.  The aluminium Ladder rises to a height of four and a half meters and is the largest single work Zoe has made in this medium.
